I saw Snowpiercer the other day. Great film. It was a little more violent than I expected, but very good.
It is, at one level, an obvious story about class structure; but it was a very well done one. As someone I saw the film with pointed out, the colours are extremely muted at the back – but it wasn’t till I saw a clip specifically analysing the use of windows and colour [SPOILER ALERT: This clip has all the spoilers], that I realised how important they were, and how significant the final few scenes are.
The foreshadowing isn’t too obvious, and the the visuals are beautiful; it’s an exceptionally beautiful film, all things considered. Worth seeing.
